Milled Vortec heads?
I am getting the vortec heads, intake and all that jazz for my lo3 in the next month. I was thinking if I get the vortec heads milled down to 58cc for my 305 can I still use the same heads for my 350 that I have plans for in the future. I wanna get the heads and intake for the 305 since its still kicking strong for now.

Re: Milling
Search the TBI boards for info on this. I've called aaround and found out that the maojr problem with doing that is not only the bolt pattern is Vortec specific (unless you special order the "old style" Intake bolt pattern) But when you mill the heads the Intake angle changes and you end up needing a special adapter and gaskets. It get's to be almost as costly to do it that way as it would be to bolt on a set of SR Torquers and go. But if Money is No object then the L31's are a great head for a 305. Just my .02.

so if i was to get the world products torque 305 heads i wouldnt have to have them milled or anything? and how much of a power gain did you notice when you put the unmilled vortexs on there?

The Vortec heads made it run like a totally different engine.
Like I've read many times; heads are where the power is.
