5.SLOW up grade
I have an 89 Formula and am looking for info on removing the ac compressor and the smog pump. It's a 305 TBI. Any help would be great

Lines and condenser are gone. I have a compressor and smog pump holding a belt on for no reason. If I pull it off there would be a belt issue I think

Thanks MY87LT I was looking for something like that. I am finding nothing though. I know the belt size to reroute without the air pump but my compressor needs to go. where can I get this?

There are plenty on Ebay of course some of the items may be used and/or new (buyer beware) as usual when buying from an auction site.
Both the A.I.R. pump and A/C delete pulleys are available and you use your same length belt which is why a lot of people for for the pulleys.

Re: 5.SLOW up grade
Why not just get the AIR pump system WORKING AGAIN?
It's not like it takes any power to drive, or causes driveability problems when it works correctly.
Everyone I know who removed their AC system wished they'd left in in place and gotten it working instead.
It's just silly to axe these systems.

Get yourself an A/C delete pulley. Then get the longer belt where you can remove the other pump and re-route the serpentine belt. The info is all posted up here on the howto https://www.thirdgen.org/serpentine/

Not me!! I'm happy to get rid of all the A/C clutter and power robbing that it did. I never used it much anyway. It really all depends on where you live and how you use the car.

Re: 5.SLOW up grade
The AC pulley bearing uses not one bit more power than buying an "AC Delete Pulley". If the compressor isn't running, you've ALREADY GOT a "delete pulley" built-in.
The A6 compressor can drag-down a pathetic engine. Pretty much non-noticeable on any engine that has power to begin with. The R4 compressor is easier to turn than the A6.
As said, the AIR pump doesn't take much power to turn, improves air quality, is essentially harmless.
