heat soak?please help

heat soak?please help
Hey quick quesion, I put in a new starter and solined, and yesterday I went to my brothers house, and I tried to fire up my car and nothing, power to everything but the starter, cause it didn't even crank, I hooked up jumper cables and it fired right up. I got home and today after I got home from work, my car fired right up. So does that mean my solined is bad, cause it's only 2days old? Or is there any thing else I can check before I have to yank out the starter again? Oh one last thing can they test the solined? Thanks

Are you sure all of your connections are clean and tight...usually if its heatsoak, a jump wont help. did it do it only the one time? Maybe it was just a glitch.

A jump has always helped any heat soak problem I had. Check the connections but if it continues, may be time for a mini-starter. I wrapped my mini-starter in a starter blanket and it has never given me a problem, even in south Florida heat and with SLP headers.

I don't think its the connects, I put it on there pretty tight, it won't even move. I did want to do it but I got to yank my starter back off again, tomorrow to have it tested
Man it's a pain to get my header y-pipe alined. But heres a question, after I yank it off, and get it tested can they tell if the starter solenoid, is fried or heat soak?

Basically what heat soak is, is the solenoid getting hung up inside the cylinder/casing and not moving. So when you hit the switch, and the solenoid throws the gear to engage the starter into the flywheel, well, the heat hangs the solenoid up. The added voltage of a jump makes the solenoid move. It does not always work but I almost gave me 68 Camaro Convt away because of this problem!
