i agree, i think it is a bad knight rider wanna-be. the next chance you get, shot it or blow it up. unless it has a 350 in it. in that case, remove the engine, then blow it up.

I sense great amounts of sarcasm coming from this thread!

To the original poster Z28Bama. That is most likely a K.I.T.T replica. Chances of it being an original prop car from Knight Rider are slim to none.

Call me crazy, but that front piece looks nothin like Knight Rider. That looks like some failed attempt at making the car look like some futuristic sports car.

It's a Night Rider kit car. The front end looks different becuase it was the 2nd generation car. If you remember from back in the day, KITT got all Jacked up and they rebuilt it and it had extra spoilers and crap like that for high speed runs. That's what the 2nd generation it looks like.

Holy crap I don't beleive that I remembered all that, what was that like 15 years ago. DAMN.

Thats NOT the Super Persuit mode KITT. I don't see where your getting that idea. Very little changed from the seasons on the KITT car. The VOX was changed. A single TV for the 2nd season instead of the dual TV dash in the 1st season. The lower fog lights went from a set of two, to a set of three for each side in the nose.

Super Persuit mode was gaudy, and ugly. Though I thought it was cool when I was a kid.

I don't even see why you guys think its a third rate knock off. It looks almost exactly like the 2nd season KITT car from what I can see of it. Check out Knight Registries to see more KITT, KARR, and KIFT cars.

Especially since it is an '86 T/A. Its just a bastardized '86 T/A, note the CHMSL (Center High Mount Stop Light) GM put them up on the hatch in '86 ('85 had none) then moved them to the rear spoiler in '87.

fugly. disgusting.

Why anyone would take seriously a really lousy TV show where they hacked one of these cars and generally did other stupid things with it, is beyond me. I guess I was just too old at the time (over 10) to appreciate it. And the reruns still make me almost puke.

Why aren't people turning '57 Plymouths into Batmobiles? Makes just about as much sense.

You can see the stoplight on the hatch of the black car?

seems like hes talking about the red one with the 3rd brake light. its got its gfx ripped off too.

looks like a pretty good kitt replica to me. correct hood, bowling ball rims, and as far as i know that nosecone is correct.

on a funny note, i was driving along the freeway, stopped at the tourist info center for a coke, and two different groups of asian tourists were pointing at my car
must be knight rider is still being viewed over there. haha. i have your standard black TA but im sure "they all look the same" to them.

If I had one I would. But I can honestly say every time I go to six flags I'm tempted to swipe the bat mobile with no engine it just crys out for a 502.

if had the money and parts car t/a i would build a kitt replica.why, well it would be a show car,car shows or going more towards eye candy than anything important like performance. kitt has alot of eye candy, the dash,tv's,all the buttons and lights, and if u wire them up to do things well there u go,instant crowd pleaser.would it be ugly,to some yes,for those i are kr fans no.i loved kr but i wouldnt drive that around town, everyone will know ur car and it will be the #1 target for everything.

um, maybe it's just me, but the proportions look wrong, particularly the rear edge of the window, to be a TA, is it possibly a kitt (pun intended) for the Fiero GT?

No possible way it is a fiero don`t disgrace those cars like that my fiero`s ate their share of 3rd gens in thier day but I switched to 3rd gens because my lead foot and the weak bottom end on th 2.8 didn`t get along.By the way the door handles on the fiero GT and coupe are hidden in th mouldings not out in the open like the KITT replica above.

Yikes, why are people even thinking this guy was talking bout the red bird. His original question was about the car in teh background. Now seeing as the red bird takes up alot of the pic, he must be talking about the black KITT in the background!

The black car is a decent replica. At least enough to pass with what little info on it as we have.

The red firebird is obviously....GASP....a firebird! It isn't looking too good either.

OK, so we can rule out fiero then. Proportions still don't liik right to me for a t/a particularly round the windows, especialy the windsheeld.

Is it possible that a KITT kit for the fiero would include fake door handles to make it look like a t/a ?

BTW, i strongly advise against a poly trans mount, there is a whole thread about this under "bad vibration" on the trans board.

Don't Hasselhoff me. That is 1 only car.

There was an episode where Kitt & DH went under cover at some gay car show and they put extra B.s. Spoilers and junk(not super persuit mode).

By the way that was the lamest trans am ever built.

yeah, your right!

Despite, (or maybe in my darkest hour because of) Knight Rider, the thought of a fully optioned black 92 GTA 5.7 still enters my mind from time to time. (but then reality bumps back in, and my 86 camaro eases the pain)

But i have never wanted to KITT it out. (if thats your bag then fine, but its not me)

The red one is a Trans Am without any ground effects. Look at the fender, there is a vent in it.

I wasn't looking at the pic. Plus I didn't pay all that much attention to it as I was originally talking bout the KITT replica. Thanks for pointing that out though. I didn't take a good look at the red T/A.
