I have SEVERE oil burning!
Ok, my car is smoking really bad. It's kinda funny because when I am at a stop light, it plumes out of my cowl hood. But anyway, it looks like the leaks are coming from the valve covers in the back and dripping onto the exhaust manifolds and burning off. But this weekend, I replaced the valve cover gaskets for the 2nd time and I KNOW I did it right. So if it's not the valve covers, where else could it be coming from??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Take it to the car wash, clean it off real good. Then you can see where it's coming from.
I'd bet it's the valve covers, especially if they're stock sheet-metal ones. If you didn't straighten them out around the bolt holes, then the bolt holes are "punched" through, from prior installation and maybe re-tightening; so there's no clamping force on 90% of the gasket, the only place they clamp tight is at the bolt hole.
It's possible that the seal at the back of your intake is failed, or the distributor is not tight. But odds are very high that it's the valve covers.
Also, have you by any chance removed the smog pump and its bracket?

just to let you know to clean that motor really well have the motor warm...cover up any electronics with platic shopping bags....works well to cover up exposed air elements too..then spray the motor down with simple green ..that **** will eat the oil right off the car...real easy rinse off too...and its safe for the lawn...not the oil residue..the simple green man
