Oxygen sensor replacement?

I have the original oxygen sensor with 91K miles on it. I have no reason to believe it's bad other than my gas mileage seems to be about 2-3mpg worse than it was two years ago (about 40K miles ago).

If I had a scanner, would I be able to determine the condition of the oxygen sensor?

Should I replace it based just on the mileage?

The O2 sensor is actually a dail maintence item. it is supposed to be replaced every 20,000 or so. You should replace it. i think u will find that your milage will improve as well as engine performace.

Due to the reasonable price of an O2 sensor I'd just replace it. Wait a few more miles and you may never be able to budge that thing.

Some have more luck than others. Mine had a 103K miles on it before I changed mine. Came out like a spark plug ... thank God! I've heard horror stories about that!
