Tell me about cylinder heads #38417369

Good or bad? Is this a good budget street head? Intended goal is no more than 300hp N/A, with maybe 150hp shot of nitrous.

Overall, is it a decent cylinder head?

Thanks!

I'm going to assume the number is 33417369 since the other didn't come up on any ID chart.

This is from www.mortec.com

33417369...90-up...350..........Gen.I Goodwrench crate motor,"Hecho en Mexico", 76cc

Sound like basic SBC heads. Just as basic as basic gets.

I would look for a better starting piont, especially if you will be modding at a later date.

I have these same heads on my car right now. I run low 14's with 9.7:1 compression, Comp High Energy 268h cam, heddman full length headers, Performer RPM intake, and a 600 cfm Edelbrock carb. I also have a 700r4 with a stock converter and 3.73,s. I just got a set of vortecs but haven't put them on yet. Hopefully I'll get 13,s.

I think these heads can easily get you 300 hp.

So, do I have the wrong part number, 94 6spd? Or do you use the part number I listed in the title?

I'd like to know the cfm rating on these heads too, I've been told 180cfm and I've been told 240cfm. If they are the larger CFM, they can take a motor making over 300hp, because they can be ported alot bigger. Any body know the answer to this one?

supposedly there was an "emissions" version that had the real low cfm, and then there are the regular ones which are opened up a bit more. Just looking for some insight as to what my potential is with these, comparing them to a pair of say, 462624 L98's, since they are also 76cc. I'm trying to keep this as cheap as possible. How do these compare to the 376450 castings, 60cc found on late 70's 305's?
