Installing SLP Headers????

I will be installing my headers this week and I figured the install kit was a waste of $70 bucks so does anyone know what bolts to use, wether or not I need a 3-wire O2 sensor, and wether or not I need to buy new wires that have angled boots.
Thanks

Oh Yeah They are without the AIR tubes, and I'm getting a y-Pipe made. Also does anyone think its a bad idea to run the car with open headers to the muffler shop, I live approxamately half hour away.

OK, I did this install already and I purchased the install kit, It came with a packing list of stuff it contains. So...

Q1. The bolts in the install kit are 3/8"-16 thread pattern, 1" long, 12point cap screws. It came with 10. You will reuse some of the old studs for your alt. and A/C. It also came with an 90 degree elbow for the fan switch, hoses and clamps for the A.I.R. system, a bolt and nut for the dipstick tube, some heat shielding for the sensors, and of course their graphite coated stainless steel crush gaskets and doughtnuts.

Q2. The O2 sensor is only about an inch further down than it was stock. A non-heated one (one wire) will heat up fully and the car will have no problems going into closed loop. My car is fine.

Q3. You will need 90 degree plug boots or if you want to spend a few hours being creative you can turn your stock wires around and put the 90 degree boot that was on the distributor down on the spark plug and the straight boot on the distributor.

Good Luck!!!

Here's some other tips to ease your install that I found out the hard way. It took me 2 days to install mine, but this should speed up your install. For the bolts that are hard to reach with a socket or open end wrench, buy a cheap open end wrench and use a grinder to grind down the walls of the boxed end so it fits into those tight places. Also to get your spark plugs back in is gonna be a pain. Get a cheap spark plug socket that has the hex head on the end. Grind it down so it's just short enough to still turn the plug......grind a little at a time......and use a box wrench to tighten it. Good luck with the install.

I would reccomend using the Stage 8 header bolts. That way once you torque them down and put the retainers on you never have to worry about them again. Also, you will need to get crush ring gaskets for in between the header and y-pipe. Make sure you measure the header precisely before you go to get them. My y-pipe is 2 1/2" ID, so the OD was a little larger. Make sure you don't get 2 1/2" ID gaskets, because they will not fit. (I found out the hard way)
