Valve Lash
OK, 1987 and newer with hydraulic lifters...
When does the valve lash need adjusting...
How do you adjust the valve lash...
Why do hydraulic lifters need valve lash adjusted????
Thanks,
Scott

they shouldnt ever need to be adjusted because the hydralic lifter keep the lash at zero. if you think you hear a ticking coming from around the vavle covers...it is probably an exhaust leak.

They need adjusting when the valve train wears faster than the valve seat, and the lifter no longer has preload, but instead has clearance.
You adjust the lash the same way as any other Chevy small block. Look in Chilton's or Haynes or Motor's or a factory manual or any number of other places for instructions.
See the first paragraph.

TPI's tick crazy....if you listen to your engine idling you can hear the injector banks batch firing...
At least mine ticks like crazy... and I know I don't have exhaust leaks....
