What products are similar to rubber, but don't use petroleum?

What products are similar to rubber, but don't use petroleum?
I need to find out a product that uses a substitute for petroleum. Something along the lines of windsheild washer blades.

For chemistry class I need to find a product that uses petroleum, and find a substitue for petroleum to use the product. So the manufacturing process is not important if it uses petroleum. Just the product.

Well silicon is what i woulda said and then there is the otherone, i had forgotten the name but the toehr guy said it, nitrile. I remember my mechanic tlaking to me about these things being tested for replacement of rubber since it dries out so easily.
