I have had my 88 Camaro Converble 305-TBI for a little over 2 years now. I bought it off the original owner. I have been taking it to my mechanic to get the spark plugs changed because I can't get to the plugs and do it myself. I am very mechanically inclined but I cannot see how someone could easily attempt to complete this task. I would really like to save money and change the plugs myself like I do with all the other vehicles in my household. If someone could let me know a trick on how to accomplish on getting the plugs out of the passenger side of the motor, it would be much appreciated.

Also, I would like to change the EGR Valve. I know where it is and I already have the new one. Is there also a trick on getting this off? Because the Throttle Body is right there blocking the bolts to the EGR Valve, does it have to be removed? Thanks for your help guys.

In addition to getting at them from underneath you may also find that some of them can best be reached with a box end wrench instead of the standard spark plug wrench.

i do about half from under the car, i've used short, medium, and long handle flex ratchets ,sockets with a wrench, several extensions, and just a wrench. nothing is easy about it, but it can be done and after a time or two it doesn't take all that long to get the plugs out and back in.

yeah man, my headers cover even more than those manifolds do. let me tell you it sucks big. i have a box end wrench that is offset, it works pretty good.
