replaced fuel pump. now whats wrong?
this on the 82 with TPI
replaced the pump.. and its running. im getting 45 psi at the rail with key on but engine off... when i go to start the car it drops to below 30 psi and car runs for maybe 2-3 seconds then dies.... is there maybe air in the line? maybe i have a kinked line?
ive been trying to get it to stay running for maybe 15 mins and it still trys to run then dies... i dont know what else to do
when i have the key on but engine off i hear gurgling at the fuel rail.. you think maybe my fuel pressure regulator went out? CAN they go out? lol
i just wanna go throw the car off a cliff

What happens if you keep the pedal pressed a bit? Does it stay running? Or does it die no matter what?
Are there any codes? What is the idle speed at (if you can get it to idle)?

if i press the pedal at all it dies faster. its was throwing codes when i had it running. but none that kept the check engine light on. im really thinking its the fuel pressure regulator..

May be a plugged fuel filter. Kinked line is also a possiblity. Alot of times a pressure regulator will have the diaphram break but they dont hold when that happens.
