hopefully picking up another 89 GTA for the 350...
I saw an 89 GTA w/ T-tops, for pretty cheap that has a 350/auto w/120K and was going to pick it up and put the 350 in my car eventually (an 1989 GTA 305/5spd) The gta I'm picking up is supposedly in good shape (strait/clean).. the only problem is that it was re-painted blue (originally red).. the wheels have been re-painted silver (ugh..) and the master cylinder is leaking, and the seats are destroyed. And the engine idle is rough.
I think i am just gonna offer a fairly low ammount of cash for it, fix the brakes and drive the thing for a while, then swap the 350 complete w/ injection into my car.
Maybe then part it out or maybe put my 305 in it and sell it. I'm not sure.
I've never swapped an engine.. but I have done pretty much everything else to my car.. and was wondering how hard it is and what I need. I am guessing I just unbolt everything (manifolds/tranny/motor mounts/fuel lines/radiator hoses/etc) and hoist the engine out of the car.. then just bolt everthing back? I wanted to do headers while I have the engine out.. maybe if I wait I can afford them. Oh well, I'll see if this pans out or not.. maybe it'll even have an aluminum driveshaft.

FP guage, N20 Guage, Boost Guage, Fuel Pressure Safety Switch, Bottle Heater **** Not So Soon: L98 w/ alum heads!? who knows. Always a work in progress..
