250+ horsepower
I have a stock 84 trans am 5.0 with the L69 engine. Stock it's rated at 190 horsepower (probably underrated) what mods can I do to get 250+ horsepower, but not messing with the smog crap.

Headers such as SLP or Edelbrock TES, good steep-ramp dual-pattern cam such as a Comp XE256 or XE262, port the heads (mostly a bowl blend job)
There's not a lot more you can do without affecting emissions.

and you could get a smog legal intake like the Edelbrock Performer. And get some underdrive pulleys and use synthetic fluids in the tranny and the rear to get as much power to the ground as possible.

I WOULD RATHER PUSH A CAMARO THAN DRIVE AN IMPORT
1983Z28 350w/ edelbrock performer RPM power package with 64cc aluminum heads, dynomax shorty headers, 700R-4 with shift kit, 750cfm carb, edelbrock 3" exhaust system, ASCD SS hood, 16" IROC rims.
future mods:
completely done over suspension, black paint with flames, Hurst shifter, dakota digital gauge package, procharger supercharger.

Check my signature for mods I did with the
L69 motor. The quickest, least expensive way
to more power on the L69 would be headers and
1.6 roller tip rockers. The motor already
has a decent cam and with the 1.6 rocker
increase you can avoid digging into the motor
with a cam change if your goal is 250 hp.
