Exhaust holding me back?
I have a 350 with around 300+ hp and sad to say, I still have the good ole stock exhaust with the cat cut out with summit brand headers with the flowtech y-pipe. How bad do you guys think this 2.25" piping, stock muffler and crappy headers / y pipe are holding me back????

What about with headers? If I was to replace these headers with some hooker LT's (2210) and the hooker aerochamber cat back, what gains should i see from that? Thanks

I don't know much about motors, I'm learning, but from what I know and have read, it'd help you alot. I think.

Sorry, i meant if you have stock exhaust and manifolds you will probably gain 25hp with exhaust and headers.

I had kind of the same problem not too long ago. Stock manifolds, Y pipe, and I pipe. I think I picked up alot more than 25 hp with headers and a 3 " cat back. In your case it really depends on how good your engine combo is and how bad your exhaust is restricting it.

rjmcgee, what exhaust did you end up going with?? I am looking into the hooker aerochamber or a flowmaster system.

So what your saying is you have the stock cat back on your car. If you really have around 300 hp I would say you should gain at a minimum 15 hp with a good 3" mandrel bent catback.
