able to start car in drive (auto)
I'm able to start my car in drive. I have an auto tranny. This should not work this way. Would this be my park/neutral switch or would this be some other problem? Could this problem also cause my torque converter to stay unlocked? Thanks for the help.

Yes I do know there are a couple of wiring modifications made (which I'm trying to find and remove). OK I'll check my Haynes and see what I can find on the park/neutral switch. Any other ideas?

I beleive the P/N switch is built into the shifter itself in the center console. That's almost certainly been bypassed somehow. It's only job that I can think of is to prevent the starter from being engaged in any gear other than P or N.

Yes the switch is on the shifter itself. Think its purple and orange wires, but it could be my imagination. It took everything apart 6months ago and can't really remember.
It could be just that the little tab on the switch which rides in a slot on the shifter itself is not right.
