looking4info:Super Chevy - 335 stroker Camaro ī88

Itīs 1988 Camaro, project Silver Streak.
There isnīt any 1998īs or early 1999īs in their website past issues section so I canīt find the one where they build the engine. The latest I could find about this project is October ī99.

Does anyone have that particular article and could scan it and post it to "Magazine Articles" in this site or e-mail it to me. I would really appreciate it. Or tell what issue itīs in so I could try to find it (which is REALLY difficult in here ).

Thanks,
Make

Well if u r looking to build this engine, in a word DON'T!!!
I built a 335, and after adding up all my receipts, I found I could've purchaced a ZZ4 for $300 less .Does this mean I'm not happy with the engine? On the contrary I'm very pleased with it. Tho I am thinking that it's pretty much maxed out (for a street driven car with all power accy's like A/C, etc).
If u are still wanting to build a motor like this u might want to contact Golens Engine Service at www.golensengineservice.com they list a 330hp 335 small block for $1999 assembled, and with a lifetime labor warranty. It's not on the web site but if u email them they get back to you fairly quickly.
Good Luck and HTH

Iīm now gathering info on various ways to uppgrade my car. 335 is one option.
Because of the unreasonable legislation regarding car repairs in here, there in no way I could change the engine, transmission and rear-end, legally that is. I could change 1 or maybe 2 of them but not all three. But the internal parts can be changed.Itīs sad but true.
I really want a T56, and one option Iīm thinking of is 335-T56-rebuild orig.rear-end or ī89-ī92 rear-end w/ disc brakes combination.

What parts did you use to build your 335?

parts I used:
Basically I used Powerhouse's kit except I had them change a few things, forged pistons for one (10:1 cr figured I would need forged), this is the kit the Super Chevy used to build their engine (they used a 2 piece rear seal non roller cam block so the kit is considerably cheaper).
Heads: I used World S/R 305 torquers,with the 1.94 1.50 valves
Cam:Comp Cams 264HR. Your cam should be cheaper because u have flat tappets not roller like I do. I also used the Comp Cams OE replacement roller lifters, and the Magnum rocker arms (1.52 ratio)
Intake: Stock TPI ported per Vaders tech article, stock 19# injectors cleaned and flow matched by cruizin performance.
Well those are the highlights, if u want any more info let me know
BTW Super Chevy dynoed their combination at 301.7 peak hp and 387 ft lbs of torque, I think I can beat that if I can figure out how to program my own proms
HTH
