Help me with ideas please

I know this is a classic "dillema" and has probably been covered numerous times, but I want to ask again.

I'm building a 383 for my car. I aquired a 92 roller block. I have a set of 64cc aluminum TF 23 degree heads a 270-HR10 cam right now. I also have a stock TPI with a superram base, but I plan on buying siamesed SLP runners.

Who sells one peice 383 cranks ? Should I have the machine shop clearance the block ? Do I need 6" or 5.7" rods ? What else is different then a 350 ? A 383 is a 350 bored .030 over right (with a different crank of course). Thanx in advance.

Yes, a 383 is an engine with 4.030" bore and 3.75" stroke. Check out www.sdpc2000.com for the crank. They've got a pretty good array of stroker cranks ranging from cheap cast ones all the way up to the bulletproof 4340 forged variety.

Scat sells a one-peice, and so does Eagle.
I got the scat strocker kit, a cast steel crank, 4340 rods, SRP pistons. Get the machine shop to clearance the block - its cheap. If its a daily driver or will see alot of miles - go with the 5.7 rods, this enables you to use a piston with a taller skirt which will have less wobble. I dont know if you can use the same cam, you may have to have a cam ground with a small base circle to clear the rods.
