Vacum Lines ???????

Vacum Lines ???????
I have a '91 Camaro RS with the 3.1 V6. on the driver side of the car, there is a vacum canister under the battery mounted to the fender. There are two vacum lines coming off of this canister, one goes inside the car, and the other, ( i have no clue). This is the question I have. Where exactly does this vacum hose go. When i noticed it was loose, it was just hanging down undr the drives side exhaust manifold. There is actually a T piece in this line, so it must go to two different places. I cannot find ne where else on the engine for a vacum hose to hook up to. Any help that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

THat's the vacuum reservoir for the various vacuum servos under the dash that direct air through either the top, front or bottom vents depending on what setting you choose on the HVAC controls. If there's no vacuum going to it you will only have air blowing out at your feet (that's the Camaro's default setting).
PS- there is a vacuum hose routing diagram on a sticker either on the radiator support or on the under side of the hood that will show you proper vacuum line routing. It's possible somebody monkeyed with it before you owned the car. Happens all the time.

Is that the round ball type of canister??
If so...
Be very carefull with that puppy!
I replaced all my vac hoses and I broke the plastic tip on that one.
There is no (glue) fix for that puppy!
Then I went down the the junk yard to find a replacement. Looked at every camaro out there and not one canister was one them. Guess I wasn't the only one who broke them.
Did find one off of a pontiac bonneville or something like that.
It was a perfect match and looked spankin new. Best part was I only paid $2.00 for it.
A lesson learned.

Thanks for your reply guys. I understand that the canister is a servo or what have you. As far as the AC goes, everything works fine, except that a little air come through the defrost vents when i have the AC on. Like I said, there is one line that goes inside the car and the other one is looselaying by the manifold. As for the vacum diagram, there is none. If anyone has a 3.1 liter and can pinpoint where this line goes, pleas let me know. Thanks in advance.
