366 BB questions
Before i think of attempting a swap i was wondering what potential the 366 has? are all the bolt on parts interchangeable with the 454?? Do they make race cams for this engine?

I thought the 366 BBC was a tall-deck block? Requires different intake or adapters to run a regular intake. Might (should) make a difference on the distributor too?
Seems like a lot of motor (weight-wise) for so little cubes when 396/427/454/etc, take up the same realestate and will make more power. Kinda like the 305 vs 350 debate I guess.

You're going to have more modifications than normal if you want to use a tall deck block in a third gen. The 366 (6L) has a smaller bore that the 427 (7L) truck block which has the same bore as a 454. This smaller bore doesn't give the 366 tall deck as much potential as a larger bore BBC. Everyone wants the 427 tall deck block but nobody wants a 366 block.
