i searched the archives to find info on ts common problem, but no one says how to fix it. so could someone tell me what to do to fix this hot start problem

Cold Start = Vrooooom

Hot start = Takes 2-3 turns of the key to start her up.

i think it has something to do with the fact that during most cold starts, we have extra fuel being added, cause the engine is cold, 87+ (?) cars have the cold start injector, while 89+ have main injector enrichment, so this is why I think cold starts are better then warm starts. also, might wanna try replacing Coolent temp and manifold air temp sensor (we have one right?)

Is the motor turning over but not starting? Or is it not turning over at all? Or turning slowly when its hot?

it doesnt turn over at all. but if i wait a while it starts right up

With mine it turns over fast whether its h ot or cold. Just starts 6 times better when Cold.

if it turns over slow when hot your starter is could be getting heat soaked, therefore making it get weak. check to make sure your battery cables are good and clean. make sure you have a good strong ground. also when an engine is really not things expand and clearances are tighter in the engine, and on a warm engine there is oil on the rings causing compression to be a little higher.

if it cranks over but wont start when hot, check to see if your fuel mixture is off. lean or rich, and retard your timing a bit.
