L98 Short block How much will it take?

I was looking at Scoggin Dickeys L98 shortblock for $1135. How much horsepower will those cast pistons take? I was thinking about bolting on a set of AFR 190 heads and edelbrock TBI intake with LT4 hotcam. Those AFR flow ratings are nice should make GOOD horsepower.

I have heard that the Stock Chevy bottom end is good up to 400 horsepower assuming you don't spin the engine too fast. I'd say keep it around 350hp and less then 6500 RPM's and you should be good to go for atleast a couple weeks.

I am afraid of it only lasting a couple of weeks. The above combo could should make 400hp. I have no intentions of running over 6000rpm much less 6500. No NOS or superchargers in the future either. Just looking for a nice *** kicking street car.

GoFasterFirebird makes 450hp and (estimated)over 500 ft-lbs with his 90,000 mile shortblock and AFR Heads on the bottle. It will live.
