Cleaning EGR passage.
Is there a snake oil out there that will aid in cleaning or keeping clean the EGR passage. Last time I had the EGR valve off the passage was pretty well carboned. I am getting an intermitten SES light for an EGR issue. So I'm going to replace the EGR valve soon. While I'm in there, I want to clean the EGR passage. Any tips?

SCrwdrivers, picks, scrapers, a bent piece of still wire, rilfe cleaning brushes, and whatever else it takes to clean the coke and carbon from the passages. AFAIK, there is no magic solution that prevents the buildup.

And a shop vac to suck up the stuff you loosen up to keep it from falling back into the engine.
