USE THIS CAM IN LT1 ??

When I was buying parts to build my TPI I bought a XE256 it has .449 / .456 int/exht. I just bought an LT1 motor and tranny the other day and Im putting it in soon. I was wondering if this cam is compatible, and if it is will it be worth it to use ?

That depends...

Comp makes it in 2 different versions, 1 for carb and one for EFI which has a wider LSA.

with tuning it shouldnt be too bad.

Wide LSA= EFI friendly

Oh sorry I forgot , its got 112* LSA. Im just wondering if that would be better than the stock LT1 cam, or if it would even work ??

Does it have the long dowel pin and the factory style roller apparatus on the front of it, to work in the LT1 block and hook up to the Optispark?

If not, it won't work.

Additionally, it's not a roller. It's a downgrade.

I'd recommend selling it, or trading it for something you can actually use.

You mean this flat tappet cam here, is a roller? This one, that's on p. 124 of Comp's catalog, with the other flat tappet XE cams? Hmmmm..... interesting.

XE256H

For LT1 cams, you want to be on this page here.
