87 iroc z fuel pump

My fuel pump is dying. 30 psi at the schrader valve. What is a good replacement pump ? I'm thinking about just replacing with a factory pump cause I don't want to fool with the computer right now.

Also, any idea how much it cost to have it done the right way, buy a mechanic.

pump is ~100, $300 labor, $400 is common.

It's not all that tough, more time consuming then difficult. If you knew how to test it, and know what a "shrader" valve is, you can do it yourself.

factory pump is best for a factory engine.

It's a big task. Don't really feel like wrestling with the exhaust pipe or muffler. Seems like everytime I take on such a project I have to take stuff off, put it back on and take it off again because I screwed something up. I do most of the work myself with anything else, I dread this one.

yea, it's a hassle, but you don't need special tools or anything. A friend and a case of beer with an afternoon will save you $300. I'm cheap, so that's what i'd do.
