spark plugs for vortec with headers
I have an 89 Camaro with a 350 vortec engine. I am running Hooker Headers and am burning the plug boot on #7 plug wire. If you have a set up like this please let me know what you did to fix this problem. I wonder if I can run just one shorty spark plug from Accel and still use the Autolites that I have in the other holes without any damage or degradation in performance. Early results show 60 foot times that should put the car solid in the 12's with lots of tuning room. Let me know what you guys think!!!

i have hooker LT's with my vortecs and boy-oh-boy is there a big interference problem. I had to dent in the #7 tube and even then the boot still touched the header tube. to make it not burn i put several layers of high-temp tape on the boot and it works like a charm.
Dont use a "shorty plug" they arent even much shorter than a regular plug (using an Accel shorty plug in the picture as a test). I run AC Delco R43LTS. Make sure whatever plug you run its a "LTS" (long thread). Using a standard plug the threads are not long enough and the plug will not protrude into the combustion chamber like its supposed to.
