Sudden Shudder

I have a firebird with a 3.4L V6 5 speed which drove like a dream up until today I was driving along the thruway in 5th gear and I gave it a little gas to pass someone and the pedal jerked a little and eventually accelerated the problem went away right after that and I drove another 20 minutes at about 65-70 no problems i exited the thruway and came to a stop light. when I came out of the stop the car shuddered like crazy while I was accelerating in all gears so I stopped the car at my friend's house and gave it some gas in neutral the engine sounded fine but the exhaust was making a faint pop pop pop noise now I have a small exhaust leak but this sound was different and was coming right out of tail pipe. I stuck my head under the hood and the moter sounded just fine running smooth as always so I got back in the car and started to drive around a bit every time I give the damn thing gas it shakes except at a select few speed and rpm combinations like at 2 grand and 48 miles an hour it will smooth out a bit and then it seems to be fine cruising about 60 and up for the most part unless I am accelerating. I have no idea at this point what would cause such a spontaneous issue there was no gradual building of a problem it was just there anyone with any insight if you could helo me out I would be much obliged.

you know what I can deal with any fuel issues thats no problem I just want to make sure that no one thinks that this is a transmission issue even a motor problem I could care less I can fix or have access to those who can fiv any given motor issues but I know very few people who take the time to learn tranny rebuilding anymore... any other insights anyone?

No, this sounds like a fuel problem. How long has it been since you used some injector cleaner? And please, use punctuation.
