oil pressure problem
My engine , 355, is in it third body.( finally found one I like) Since I installed it the oil pressure is acting strange. Under heavy braking, in a straight line, pressure drops to 0 and stays there til either I stop or let off the brakes.
This is where it gets strange. If I over fill a little over half a quart it is fine. I haven't pulled the pan yet but have looked in the pan with a scope. The pick up and shield seem to be in place.
While swapping the engine it wasn't put on the floor or banged around.
I know my next step is to check with a mechanical gauge, just haven't got to it yet.
Any clues?

Sounds like the oil pump pickup fell off.
Oil does not respond well to "seem" kinds of things.

no noise at all. I am thinking maybe something happened to the baffle and the oil is transfering to the front of the pan.
Guess I will plan a oil pan removal soon.
