Upgrading My Super Ram Engine...Want Experienced Help With Parts
Ok well my engine has met it's demise. Due to a bad set of rings (hopefully) the car is burning oil at 1 quart per 100 miles.
The engine is a 383 with a SDPC Nodular stroker crank, Eagle rods, and hyper pistons. Currently I'm running an LPE 219 cam and AFR 190 heads which they don't even make anymore.
I'm looking to make close to 400rwhp if possible with my rebuild. I'm hoping all the bottom end needs is a hone and some new rings/bearings. I'm going to upgrade the top end while everything is apart though. After speaking with AFR the tech crew there feels that the AFR 195 Street Heads are more than adequate to make 400-500 horsepower. They also suggested the Comp XR288HR cam which is 236/242 .520/.540 110 lsa.
I'm running an Accel Super Ram plenum and runners and a ported Edelbrock baseplate with 24# SVO injectors. Car is a MAF system.
Do you feel this combination will help me meet my goal? Who is running a legitimate 400rwhp Super Ram engine here?
