Weird Problems Please Help :(
Ok, hey guys I was going to take my car into the shop next weekend, but I thought I would see what you guys thought the problem was berforehand. The car wouldn't start on occasion, but it would just crank and no start so I put a tiny bit of starting fluid in the air intake and it would start right up. It did this the same day I got it about a year and a half ago. It did this once or twice during the following month I got it. Then, it didn't do it for the whole year and started up great. About a couple of weeks ago it started having this ticking or really small knock, but this only happens when the car warms up and makes no noise when it is cold. I havn't drove the car since this making of the noise, but I wouldn't think it would hurt it if I did, as the tick/small knock isn't heard until you get real close to the engine compartment. Sorry for the long post, but it is kind of hard to explain. Thanks and any replys would be great.

The fuel injectors tick when they fire, it's a normal sound. Put your fingers on an injector while the engine is running and you will feel it when it fires. Maybe that's all your'e hearing....

It only recently started making this sound. It definately doesn't sound the same. There is also no power loss, only the noise. I have a wide variety of ideas, from family and such. Such as rod bearing, stuck or burnt lifter, rocker studs, exhaust leak, heavier weight on the oil, flexplate, or carbon build up. So many possibilities just trying to narrow it down.
