OK Can anyone help me out?

I want to get a new set of plug wires, a universal set so I can cut them to length for my setup to do a nice neat install. So I start thumbing through my Summit catalog and now I am confused!

Everyone is calling their wire sets high performance, how can that be when some are 40 ohms per foot and others are over 1500 ohms per foot!

To me, high performance would be maximum electrical conductivity with physical strength and heat resistance combined with RFI suppression right?

So how can a 1500 ohm per foot wire label itself as high performance when other sets are only 300 or even 40 ohms per foot. That is a big difference.

So whats the deal?
What brand model would be best for my vehicle with a 305 TBI and an MSD box and coil?

I got NGK iridiums in my car now, but they are a bit of overkill, in the spring I am planning on going with splitfire plugs and wires from summitracing.com

The thing they don't tell you is that the resistance to a high voltage pulse may be substantially higher then the resistance a multimeter sees... IIRC

Is that what is called Inductance? The resistance to electrical flow at varying voltages? Why don't the mfgr include that info on the specs?

I still need to figure out the best bang for the buck in the 30 - 65 dollar price range.

I guess that leaves out all the MSD sets. For that price, you're not going to get much more than a factory replacement set of wires.

Unless you're an all out race car, you're not going to see a big difference in performance, if any, from different wires. I currently run MSD 8.5's but also use a MSD HVC II coil that produces a full 2 amps of power to keep the plugs firing in an alcohol rich air/fuel mixture.

It is not to varying voltages so much as varying frequencies.
