Okay. I bought a rebuildable 3970010 4 bolt block last year for $125 and tore it down. I was planning on getting my 81 camaro driving but I decided to get a 3rd gen instead. I got my '89 and then decided Id like a carb setup instead of the tbi so I started looking for a running 350 to just drop in.
Got a running 350 from a 79 4x4. The odo read 90K. I was originally wanting to put it after a quick look-see at the main bearings etc. I power washed it yesterday and pulled the heads off today to make sure I didnt get any water in there and sprayed her down with some wd-40

However when I inspected it, I noticed some light scoring in some of the cylinders. I think its got a stock bore. The pistons looked like maybe the block overheated bad once (would explain why the heads are from '71, probably had warped heads)
I figure I need to atleast hone the cylinders and replace bearings etc but Im almost tempted to do a complete rebuild on an engine.
I cant decide between doing an Earl Shives hone and rebuild on this or to get the engine bored and do a master rebuild. I dont make much so the machine work could kill my budget but I also feel skeptical of doing a crap job and just honing the cylinders out. Actually I dont have a budget. I just spend every single cent I make and thats not much.

Do they make kits with just gaskets and bearings in them? If so how much am I looking at?
The way I see it, it'll probably cost me $300 in machine work for boring, grinding crank, and pinning new pistons if me and my uncle hot tank ourselves. I cant decide what I want to do. Wondering if you guys could help me decide
