engine light

So I noticed the other day that my service engine light came on and I was thinking to myself o crap what could this be. Then it decided to go off. Today when driving once I hit about 45-50mph it came on again then when I came to a stop it went off. happened about 3 times.... I don't know if its just messing around with me or what...... i have a 5.0 305 tbi.
Just wondering if anyone has had this happen before and could help me out or give a helpful hint.
Thanks
Zach

Re: engine light

it could be anything...dont pay too much attention to that light...i have had mine ON for about 40K miles and there is nothing wrong with it...you might just have a little bolt loose and it would come on...

Re: engine light

I would scan it for codes....sounds like a code for the EGR. I had the same situation with mine and it turn out to be a lazy 02 sensor. The EGR code will set under acceleration/highway speed generally. Do a search on the site, there are some good posts about this. Just scan it for codes first, that will point you toward the right direction.
