Fan switch/knock sensor connector/wire colors 89 TPI

I think I may have my connectors backwards on my 89 IROC, it was origionally a 305 TPI which I just swapped for a 350. I finally got it running and timed today and it seems to run quite well but the cooling fan never came on, also my temp gauge is broken, the needle fell off it. After about 10 mins or running I shut it off because the fan never came on. After that coolant bubbled back and almost filled the overflow tank, after all the air was out it sucked almost all of it back in. I'm not sure if the fans didn't come on because I had the wires backwards or because there was so much air in the system that the switch didn't function. Other than that it ran very well. Can anyone confirm the connector or wiring colors for the fan switch and knock sensor connectors? Thanks!

Looking at my car, it looks like the fan switch is white(ish) and the ks should be blue.

I've swapped those before.

What you can also do to check the wiring/connectors is to ground it to the engine. Turn the key-on, leave the engine off, ground each individually to the engine and if the fan turns on that is the fan switch connector.

Won't hurt anything to ground the knock sensor connector. And it also proves out that the fan relay, wiring and motor are OK.
