Tickling the rev limiter

Got a quick lil question, I put my Iroc sideways a lil too fast and I tickeled the rev limiter, I think I even hit the limiter, not sure too loud of a car haha. My question is, is that gonna hurt my motor at all? I got an msd on the way to help me with that

Re: Tickling the rev limiter

Huh? I don't understand your question, you put your car sideways? Were you drifting or something? Do you have a rev-limiter on your car? If so I don't see how you could have hurt your motor, that's why you installed a rev-limiter, so you wouldn't cause damage to your motor. And if you didn't install a rev-limiter, well our cars didn't come with rev-limiters so I dunno what you were "tickling" the red line? If that's the case then read this

Re: Tickling the rev limiter

Ah alright, yeah, it's very easy to do that any time you spin the tires. Burn-outs often occur above the 4000 RPM mark for me.

Nah, I doubt you did damage, as long as you didn't spend much time revved way up there then you should be fine.

Read that other post I linked, it has a lot of helpful information on redlining, what it damages, and how you're not very likely to damage anything unless you're very hard on it.
