Who had the highest oil consumption new engine ever?
I have a new 383 stroker and it started off around 1 qt every 400 miles.
now at the 900 mile mark, it went thru 1 qt in 2 hundred miles
changed oils twice in the 900 miles same thing
10w30 dino oil
no leaks
pcv valve changed
engine runs real strong and tune is nice ( finally)
absolutely no smoke coming out of the tail pipe in the morning or otherwise that I have noticed
standard oil rings came with the Mahle Power pak pistons.

I think that I have that beat. The 355 in my Nova right after I put it in and got I it running was going through a qt every 60 miles depending on how I drove it. No smoke, no leaks, nothing I could find at first. I was like what the hell is going on here?? I was running 20/50 Castrol. Come to find out my intake bolts were just a little bit lose. As soon as I tightened them up it stopped using oil. Before I wiped out the new cam I out in I had 900 miles on it and not used 1/4 qt.
