Q on 113 heads, rockers, guide plates, etc.

I am installing 113 heads on my 350. The heads I pulled off are 810 heads with self guiding rockers.

The 113 heads have guide plates on them, but I see online that a 90 model vette used self guiding rockers. I am guessing these plates were added later? Or did the vette use both?

Main question, can I use both? Or do I need to pull the plates off and run my self guiding rockers?

If I need to pull the plates off, what is the torque spec for the rocker studs?

Thanks

All alum Vette heads (128 / 113 ) use self aligning rockers.

The "guide plates" you see on SA heads are only plates used at the factory for assembly purposes ; not true hardered plates for use with non SA rocker and pushrods

Pick one or the other. Since you are using the self aligning rockers, remove the plates.

Alright, anyone know what the torque spec is for the studs when I put them back in?

I reused the rockers that I had which were stock, which I am thinking was 3/8.

AFR calls for 55-60 ft/lbs for the rocker studs on their aluminum heads.
