Ignition Switch help.
Ok, im attempting to change out my ignition switch. Got the steering column dropped, got the switch unbolted, but cant seem to get it out. This is probably a dumb question, and i apologize if its really simple, but how do i get that cable Disconnected from the back of it, not the rod from the ignition but on the other side? I tried pushing it (it seems like i should just push it in) and pulling. Is there like a release button on this thing that i cant find?

Re: Ignition Switch help.
Have no idea if it's the issue you are having, but have you tried inserting the key and turning it to the on position? I've read a few posts that suggest the key must be turned on for removal - which kinda doesn't make sense 'cause most folks replace the ignition because the key doesn't work anymore - but it was a thought I had.

Re: Ignition Switch help.
Key does need to be in the run position for easy removal.
and dont forget to disconnect the vats wiring before pulling it out too far.
