What was your "DUH" moment while working on your car??
I know this post isn't really that informational but I just had a huge duh/ blond moment. And it made me think what are some of yours???? Mine was I was driving my camaro to get the new exhaust system installed. The tank said it was full according to the gas gauge. Then I noticed the car slowly died. I was like "what the hell is going on" I looked at the gas gauge again and it said "full". So I was thinking that's just great. Why would it not be getting gas? Well I assumed the gas gauge was right. I sprayed starter fluid into the intake and it started. So I thought " great my fuel pump went out or something is wrong with the wiring. I was in such a hurry to get the car hauled to the garage and get it off the highway I didn't think about getting my gas jug out to see if maybe it needed gas and the gas gauge was sticking.
So as the flat bed comes to get my car I say to my fiance " Watch it I just bet the gas gauge was wrong and it just ran out of gas...and if it did that would kinda save me some money...but I would look like an idiot" so we get the car there. I come back from work...the garage calls and says " Miss King? Your camaro ran out of gas" OMG I died laughing and explained to them why I even brought it there and they at least had their good laugh for the day. But yes that was my "DUH" moment. What are yours??

You poor thing! The good news is that you are only out a tow and a tank of gas!

Closest thing I've got is I did a cam swap on an old Mercury Capri 302 we had several years ago. Was just finishing up buttoning everything up, fixing to fire it up to break the cam in and putting my tools away when I look down and there sits the cam eccentric for the fuel pump. Had to tear everything off the front of the engine again, damned Ford.
