heater core blow out

first let me say its a 4th gen camaro 1994 with the all mighty powerfull v6 zoom zoom zoom i know its a 3rd gen page but im hoping someone can help me out . My heater core let loose last night after leaking all winter long i have it by passed now. im hoping someone can tell me how much of a PIA its going to be ive heard the a/c has to be sucked down. Some detailed instructions would be good thanks
