Service Engine Light.

Service Engine Light.
91 Firebird 305 tbi.
I've looked around to see if i can find an opinion to this but couldnt find anything. When im driving at night, and its pretty cool out, my service engine light will come on (i dont think its happened during the day, maybe once or twice) when I shut off the car and turn it back on the light is off. Unfortunately I dont have a code reader or the funds to get one at the moment.
The car runs perfectly fine before and after the light turns on. I just wanted to know if anyone had the same experience and if they knew what it could be.
from what I gather, it seems like a code 32. if you think it is, is it something that NEEDS to be replaced immediately? or can I drive with it for now?
Thanks in advance, you guys have been a great help to me already.

Staples has code readers on sale, $0.79 for a box of 100. http://www.staples.com/1-Size-Paper-...?cmArea=SEARCH
Jump pins A and B on the ALDL connector under the dash, turn the key to "on" without starting the car, and count the groups of flashes.

I was trying to figure out what it meant in the tech article on the site. I dont mean to sound to noobish, but can you explain what i need to do in layman's terms?

Re: Service Engine Light.
so i count each group of flashes as a number. so if its "flash, flash, flash, pause, flash flash" that would be thirty two right?
if im right, it is 32. is this something i should change immediately? or i can live with it?

Re: Service Engine Light.
That would be 32.
Whatever the code is, you still have some work to do to find out why it's being set, but at least you'll know where to start looking.

Re: Service Engine Light.
Check all your vacuum hoses for leaks, should only be about two hoses. 1 goes from TB to solenoid, the other one goes from solenoid to egr. Check your egr valve, or get a new one, then check out the solenoid, or get a new one. Total price for everything will prolly be around 100 bucks. Ive replaced all that stuff, still getting a code 32 for about a year now, and its still running fine
