What color are standard rockers?
Pulled the valve cover on my 92 350tpi motor today for the first time and found what i thought were rusty rocker arms, but after cleaning one with wd-40, i found that it wasnt rust, they are GOLd????? Thats not stock, right? I looked for a name or stamp on them and couldnt find any......

If they're yerbasic ball-fulcrum non-roller-tip stamped sheet rubber, they're probably stock. They get to looking all sorts of colors from the funk and crusties that build up on them, which is REAL hard to get of, on account of the heat they generate. Probably have some blue down around the ***** too, I would imagine; that's where they get the hottest.

Most of them are black, but certain oils make valvetrains look gold.

I didnt think so.....kinda makes me curious about what kind of cam, etc. may be in there......
I was hoping not to have to do a full teardown, but i guess i should just for my own peace of mind.
