82 z28 for a 96 z28?

*sorry didnt know were else to post this, but does have a tech issues question too*

i have a 1982 z28 5speed ttop vortec 355 headers true duals electric fan, no ac, has cowl hood new everything from tires to breaks and from engine with less than 500 miles and rebuilt tranny. stock rear end. car could use paint thats it.

considering trade for:
1996 LT1 6speed z28 with hot cam ported heads, lowerd on custom rims has 01 SS front end conversion, ttop with ac. 4th GEAR GETS STUCK! thats my issue. and question. if i trade (or should i even) wat could be wrong with that t56? it has a bnm short shifter, the owner says its either that out of adjustment (BS) or a bent shift fork broken keys. now if i trade whuld it be ok to drive it and just skip 4th till i fixed it? ...hmmm idk.... any thoughts?

I would keep the 82, it has more value and all it needs is a paint job? The car looks sexy already.
Also I wouldn't trade, considering you may find more promblems with that car than what he is already said.

Keep the '82. You asked this question on a 3rd Gen forum and expected a different answer? :-)

Unless you NEED a faster car, keep the '82, it's better looking and already a classic car

i own a 1996 Z28 full bolt on car. i would keep the 82. also, you can buy my 96 if you have about 7500 bucks. its full bolt on and has only 70K on the odometer.

Re: 82 z28 for a 96 z28?

Why in Heaven's name did the owner install a 98-02 front end on a 96?

Those front ends are the ugliest ever. I know it's an LT1 but if you really want an LS1 vehicle then get a C5, GTO or a TA, the maros are just butt ugly with that front end

Agreed.

That 82 has a butt ugly cowl on it and it is in dire dire need of lowering springs, but other than that the 82 is clearly the better looking car.

4th gen camaros look like:
