looking for TPI guru in Jacksonville FL

I have an 88 Iroc 305 5 speed that is giving me some of the same issues that others are having on here.

I have been trying to track down a miss that I get while trying to maintain a speed. Idle is ok, and never fails, and any accelerating done is smooth and even(wide open, or easing in the throttle from idle). When I try and maintain 35mph to 55mph the car acts like it is loading up.

I do have play in my throttle body and either have 115k miles, or even maybe 215k miles. I hear this will affect the idle, but nobody ever says it has anything to do with driving.

I have replaced the TPS, MAF, Ignition module, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I also have grounds everywhere, that are not factory(didn't work either).

There are no codes and have not cleared them in over three months.

I would like to find someone local that can plug into my car and read what is happening when it starts acting up.

Thanks,

Dave

Re: looking for TPI guru in Jacksonville FL

if you have a lap top and 30 bucks to build the cable and buy a sodering gun you can do it yourself and save some money. the software is free use either Win ALDL or tunerpro and do some data logging to find the problem. If your intent on finding someone to do it for you ive found that local speed shops will be more of a help than going through the yellow pages.
