please help trying to get to my injectors
hey there brothas.. well im doing my mechanic work my self the old american way... well i have a 1989 5.7 t tops, i took the runners and plenum off and when i got to the fuel line and the 4 10mm bolts they are not moving!!!! i tried soaking it with wd40, buying a socket adapter for my 18v dewalt impact gun thinking the little hammer-like impacts might free it up.. i dont want to break it let alone strip it.... any suggestions guys???????? ill post pics of the bolts soon heres my car btw proud owner since high school im 26 now

I at a loss. Use a "quality" box end wrench (closed circle) to break it loose. If it were me I'd grab a wrench and tap tap tap on the wrench with a hard hammer, just to break it free. If you've been impacting on it and lubing it, you are now ready to step it up. You could also use a 3/8 extension, or punch, along with a hammer and pound downward on bolt head. try not to mark it up too much. Try a light pressure tightening, 2-3 cracks loosening.
Flare fittings respond well to a sharp blow on a flat of a nut with a punch and a hammer.
It's steel going into aluminum, right!? I've taken my rail off a few times, I never experienced these being particularly annoying. The odds of it breaking are quite low. But it can happen.
I may be taking my intake off thus weekend, too, lol. New lifters.

it it with the propane torch long enough to get it hot.. put a socket on it, and hit the socket with a hammer.. then hit it with the torch again and then try to loosen it by putting a box end wrench on it, applying pressure as you hit it with the hammer.. the bolts will come loose.

Derrick i have thought about heat torching it, that does work i know for a fact. But the fact that fuel lines are milimeters away im trying to save my camaro and i a early death lol...

Steel fasteners often become lodged in aluminum threads due to corrosion. This is a big issue on motorcycles and carburetors. The tool I like best for this is an impact screwdriver. Most that I have used have a 3/8" square drive that accepts sockets. After gently heating the fastener as suggested, place the impact driver with socket on the fastener and strike it with a hammer. The driver applies downward force combined with rotating force and generally works very well to break these stubborn fasteners loose.
