Using coolant. Refil every 3-4 months
So, after opening my resivoir cap and seeing no coolant, and then opening the radiator cap and having to strain my eyes to see coolant, I came to the conclusion that I was losing coolant .
I have filled the resivoir and radiator probably 4 times within the last 2-3 years. Its obviously going somewhere...no drips under car or anything...Heres whats puzzling......
1. No smoke from exhaust
2. Checked coolant in resivoir after driving and it is green just as when I put it in with no oily tint of any kind.
3. Pulled oil dip stick and oil wasn't milky or have any bubbles. Looked just as clean as when I put it in a couple thousand miles ago.
So I have a hard time believing that this could be head gasket related.
2 years ago I had the intake gasket replaced so I doubt its that.
Anybody have any ideas on what could be happening?
-As it sits I probably fill the resivoir a little every 4-5 months.
I can easily live with putting $5 of coolant in twice a year...I just want to make sure I dont damage the engine, or spin a bearing.

I got two suggestions ........
#1 ; Radiator/cooling system pressure test ..
And
#2 ; Check your front passenger's side carpet really well , as in lift it back from the firewall a bit and have a really good check in there for wetness . Sticky wetness . As in , Antifreeze Sticky wetness ...

Could have a very minor leak that evaporates on a hot engine before it ever hits the ground. Losing a little bit every few months is a pretty small leak. The recovery tank cap is vented, so eventually you will lose some water out of it as well.

Yea I think that this is probably the case...Cause its done it for the whole 3, almost 4 years I've had it and it hasn't gotten any worse. I guess I should be happy that its not at all severe. Thanks for the info guys!
