So guys need some feedback considering between getting a 86 yellow iroc or a 81 turbo trans am pace car?

That not enough information to make a educated choice.
A IROC-Z what ? 305 ? 350? Auto ? Manual ? etc. ,etc.

That lame turbo 301 had what... 210 HP? It was pathetic. And since it used a carb, a Q-Jet at that (good carb but not AT ALL conducive to The Force), HIGHLY mod- and tuning-hostile.
People will laugh at it. Did then, hasn't got any better since.
In equal conditions, I'd get the 3rd gen if it was me. Yellow or not.

2nd gen turbo ta are lame ducks.
Some collector value perhaps in the future if kept stock.
3rd gen camaro would be a better car to mod or for driver duty imo.
