whats it called ??
Hi guys, hope someone can help. I found what looks to be some sort of sensor, has wires coming from the back of it, and screws into the block under the manifold. I think there's a few of them. Anyone know what I'm talking about and can tell me what they are? 305 tpi. Cheers.

Sorry for being a bit vague. Ill get a pic up in the next few days. Anyone know why when I use the paperclip to check for codes nothing happens? Not even system ok '12' flashes.

Are you sure you're jumping pins A & B? They are top row, right hand end together. The "sensor" you are talking about almost has to be a block heater installed for cold climate. They are typically installed in vehicles sold in the northern states. Aside from the EGR temp sensor in the EGR valve on some applications and the O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold/exhaust pipe(depending on application), GM doesn't use sensors with pig tails. All GM sensors have a connector receptacle and connect directly to the harness.
