Mitchell On Demand Sucks, look where they ditched me on a flow chart....... Need help
So, im following a Flow chart.. (worst things ever when not complete.) So I got a 32 code (EGR OPERATION). Im doing a circuit test. Im on Step 3; ignition off. disconnect ECM. Probe EGR harness terminals A,B and C with test light connected to battery voltage. If test light is now off ECM is and thats all it says. no arrows nothing. the flow chart ends here. and there is nothing else........ i used a volt meter, and i have no DC volts. So the Light would be out...... But what does this mean? Bad ECM? Good ECM bad EGR Valve??? Thanks Guys for any help. Ive tried searching and searching and i cant find a thing.... I just checked Mitchell, I cannot copy the code 32 EGR test, but I read it and it seems fairly simple.
Disconnect the EGR connector, and apply 12v to terminal "D". Then, alternately apply ground to "A", "B", and "C". In every case, there should be a change in idle speed. If yes, valve and passages are OK. If no and passages are clean, EGR valve is toast.
