Few problems, need help. This car is starting to frustrate me.
Few problems here, need help. To start off my car is an 87 iroc z TPI 305. I have problems when I start the car. When I start it it will start then the idle will drop and car will stall. If I keep my foot on the gas for a minute it will run. The cat glows red. I got a new maf relay update part #10094701 to replace part #14078307. I believe it's the after burn relay. That did nothing. The idle was going up and down and the car shaked violently. Also the car sounds like it's misfiring and smells of fuel. I am thinking it's running to rich. Can anyone help me out? I am really getting frustrated. I don't have the time and I am tired dumping money to fix this problem. If I can't fix it I am selling this car and one day buy a new one so I can just get in and drive.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It is certainly running rich if the cat is getting red hot- it will heat up as it catalyzes more unburnt hydrocarbons (fuel) into CO2. Your computer uses the MAF, MAP, O2 and temp sensors to calculate the amount of fuel to inject, an error with any of these sensors could cause an over fuel condition, or weak/no spark could cause a similar issue. Is it throwing any codes?
